Radiological Evaluation of the Effects of Printing Parameters on 3D Printed Cylindrical LW-PLA Samples: Preliminary Results

Purpose: In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the radiological tissue equivalency of different 3D printed samples obtained at printing temperatures, flow rates and infill rates.
 Materials Methods: Ultimaker 3 Extended printer LW-PLA filament were used witin scope study. A total 18 cylinders by using temperatures 195°C, 200oC 205oC, 60%, 80% 100%, 2 infilling 90% 100%. Each sample 1 cm in diameter height. After calculating densities samples, they imaged a Philips Brilliance 128-slice computed tomography scanner. images, average Hounsfield Unit values standard deviations these recorded 5 axial positions for each sample. The mean HU deviation over slices evaluated according parameters.
 Results: Density are between 0.63 g/cm3 1.19 g/cm3. It was observed that density directly proportional rate rate. addition, varied -450 +73. On other hand, ±6 ±25. increased with increasing temperature, decreased temperatures.
 Conclusion: Considering tissues routine examinations, concluded parameters may have properties can represent many soft tissues.
